Everybody, probably even you, have heard it or said it. Someone is smart, you call him an Einstein. But, how much do you know about the guy? What does a man do to make his name synonymous with genius?
Well, Albert Einstein is pretty cool; Let me tell you why
|
Albert Einstein was born in Germany on March 14th, 1879. As a child, he was slow to develop, even to the point his parents sought out a doctor's advice. He also was a rebellious child, having great difficulty with authority figures. One teacher expelled him from school, and another famously told him that he would never amount to much. Everyone has probably heard the legend that he failed at Math, but this isn't true. He was always gifted in mathmatics, often studying on his own to get ahead of the class. At 12, his sister said, he had taught himself Geometry and Algebra so he could be at the head of the class when school resumed. At 15 he had mastered Integral and Differential Calculus. He wanted to grow up and be a college professor of Mathmatics. His parents would buy him textbooks in advance and he would spend his summers learning them. He wasn't satisfied to just learn the material, he enjoyed finding new ways to prove the theories in the books and even once found a new way to prove the Pythagoreon Theory. So, sorry to tell you, he never failed at math. His problem was discipline. He abhorred authority, and was eager to show it. He saw things differently than other people. He tended to think in pictures rather than words. This was explained better after his death, but more on that later.
