   So what have we learned? The biggest obstacle in getting what you want is actually knowing what you want. The first step in getting what you want  is defining that want. By formulating a plan to get that want, we turn our wish into a want. The plan makes our want a goal. The bigger the goal, the more the planning is usually required.  To put together a workable plan, requires us to set a Value to the want, and calculate the Cost of getting that want.

  But all the planning in the world won't help you unless you get up and put your plan into action. The hardest step on a journey is the first one.  As you execute your course of action, you must check your progress.You must know where you are in your plans, and know if your plans need to be modified.  As you reach closer to your goals, the going might get rough, or stalled. You must keep your eye on the goal, and keep making progress. By revaluing your want, you will know when the Cost of the want starts to outweigh the Value of the reward.  We learned that sometimes getting what you want every time means knowing when it's time to stop wanting it.

  As the last lesson, I offered to help you design a course of action  to get you started on one of your wants. Since it takes experience to formulate well laid logical plans, I will help to set the first want in the long line of things you now will know how to get. Remember, as I said before we even began the lessons, it requires constant practice. Getting what you want is directly affected by the efforts you put forward learning to master this skill. It's not easy, requires lots of effort. But you will find the more wants you get, the more goals you achieve, the easier it gets. Success builds upon itself, and opportunities multiply as they are siezed. You recall; I asked you when the last time you can think of that I did not get what I want. You couldn't think of a time. 

Now, I ask the more important question at the end of the lessons; When is the last time you can think of that I gave up going after what I want?

So, to end the lessons, I offered to help formulate a plan for Stormy to follow to achieve a want.  Stormy has decided she wants to know how to meet an Andy Sixx. If I wanted to meet Andy Sixx, how would I do it?

   Meeting Andy Sixx? Okay, but I thought you might have aimed a little higher. I guess I'm too old to remember how much meeting a pop star means to a young person. So the first thing we do is to place a Value on the want. How much is the reward worth. I'm afraid that is something you are going to have to decide for yourself. You are the only one who can decide how much this want is worth to you. Other than having a cool story to tell, I can't place a Value on this for you. Although to me, just having the cool story was enough sometimes. However, for it to be an effective plan, you must understand exactly what it is you are wanting. You might not like some of the things I say here, but I am just stating facts as I have found them.

  To properly value this want, we must examine what an Andy Sixx is. He was born December 26th 1990 as Andrew Dennis Biersak. At age 14 he formed his band; Black Veil Brides. They are described as a post-hardcore emo band. He is from Cincinnatti Ohio, and attended the Creative & Performing Arts High School where he majored in Drama, and had a minor in Music- Vocal. After High school he moved to Hollywood California, where he resides today.  The band BVB seems to change members a lot, but Andy seems to be a constant.  Andy also seems to be the reason the members change a lot. Their recordings do not seem to sell well at this time but they are an internet sensation with their videos getting a million or more views each on their official channel. His image is that of a tortured teen soul, but in reality he had a fairly normal upbrining in Cincinnatti.  

   So now we must go about considering the cost, and the resources you have at your disposal to use in acquring this want. Since at this time, with the limited Money that you have, and the fact you are still JUST a Young Lady, any travelling to meet this guy MUST be worked out with your mother. She needs to be in on any plans that involve going anywhere at this time. When you get older this will change. So the only option is that Andy Sixx must come to you. Since he is in a working band that means he must go on the road to do shows. Your chance to meet him will be when he comes to town, or within a reasonable distance to your town, to do a show.

   You will need to research his websites to know when he will come around your area. The band itself does not seem to have a website, so their main venue is MySpace; Here; MySpace/BlackVeil Brides. They have a schedule posted where they are going to be during the fall tour. As I look at it, they are two possible dates coming up. One near you and one near me.  Their venues are mostly small and medium size clubs, most of which you will need to check if you are even allowed to go in. You will need to look over the schedule with your mother, and decide if it's even feasible with this short of a notice to attend either one. With school, work and everything else, any travelling  requires scheduling, and at this time, your schedule is set by your mother. They do seem to follow a scheduled tour set, and are hitting mostly the same places they went to on their last tour. I would not expect this to change during the spring tour, or the summer tour  after that. So the opportunities happen a couple times a year. My thought is probably a Summer 2011 tour offers the best chance, but again, you need to check with Mom. Besides, she might have a few ideas you might not be aware of.

     Bands often have a "meet and greet" ( Hi, buy my CD) before or after the show, or make appearences at record stores and the like. This is where your best odds are of meeting this guy. Once you have a show set you can go to, then you will need to monitor their PR sites such as Twitter, Youtube and Facebook for whatever promotions they are offering. They record for a small label, and as I said, their recordings aren't major sellers. The number of youtube views does not translate into record sales, so the label isn't going to spend a lot of money promoting the band during this tour. If the record takes off, and sells better, or if the next one sells well enough, that may change.  Usually when bands are starting out, they do a lot of promotions with radio stations. I am not aware of  any stations that play their records, so getting a meet and greet is not very likely in this case.  Also because of their appearance and image, it means they won't be doing store visits to any large venue. So you will need to check with small record stores, in the area where the show is. By promoting themselves as they do they severely limit the public appearences they can do at this time.

 Now, as you go about looking for the "meet and greets" and the promo visits, you must understand this clearly; If it's legit, legal and safe, they will INSIST you have a Parent or Guardian with you. Anything else, ANYTHING ELSE; is a rip-off, a lie, or worse.  You need to work with the adults around you with every offer, contest or appearance promised. To do otherwise is being foolish. You are many things Sweetheart, but you're no fool. You're much too clever. By getting the grown-ups involved, you will make sure you not only get your want, but you have a good time and you stay safe. This is the only logical way to do this at this time. And as we have proven over and over again, plans without logic, NEVER work.

    We are going to have to use a shifting plan for this want. Because we have to consider variables that are going to change over time, such as Age and Income to mention a couple,  you will need to use a plan that varies over time right now.  Since the last lesson does include this plan, I will continue to work with you developing it. You also must understand, the Value of this want will  change over time. So get with Mom, you and her pick a show, and let's see what comes up there. 

   This concludes our lessons. You now know the process. The results you get from this will be a direct result of the effort you put into it.  I have kept my pinkie swear and gave the lessons. You must now keep your pinkie swear by learning it.
